Cinco de Margarita!

Confession. We drank ALOT of Margarita’s during our time in America, so we quickly worked out what was a good one, and what was not. Premix was definitely a NO. One great thing about ordering drinks in the States is that you can make any adjustments or requests and they don’t bat an eyelid. I always opted for a skinny with extra salt over ice.

Here’s a really simple, yummy (but strong!) Margarita recipe that just MUST be mixed this week to celebrate Cinco de Mayo!

SKINNY MARGARITA

Makes 2, or 1 depending on how big your glass is!

2oz Tequila (I use Casamigoes Blanca)
2oz freshly squeezed lime juice
1.5oz Cointreau
1oz light agave nectar or simple syrup
Ice
Coarse sea salt
Chilli flakes/powder
Lime wedges
Optional: Jalapenos

Use a lime wedge to wet the rims of your glasses. Mix together the salt and chilli on a plate and salt the rim of your glass.

Add tequila, lime juice, Cointreau and agave nectar or simple syrup to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. If you like an extra heat, add in a few slices of Jalapeno.

Shake well then pour into your glass filled with ice.

Enjoy and repeat!
