
So this Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe was given to me by a friend Allanah in GRADE 9! That was a loooooong time ago. I still have the handwritten instructions. Her Mum would make this and we would devour them, mostly because I was at boarding school and was always hungry.
Good luck stopping at just one! I freeze them to pace myself and also to hide them from Coco… and my husband!
THE BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
You’ll need
125g butter
½ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar
½ tsp vanilla
1 egg
1 ¾ cup self raising flour
½ tsp salt
125g (or more!) chocolate chips
60g walnut pieces (optional)
Method
Cream together butter, sugars and vanilla.
Add lightly beaten egg gradually, beating well after each addition.
Mix in sifted flour and salt
Add choc-chips and chopped walnuts
Mix well then roll teaspoon full amounts into balls and place on lightly greased tray, allowing enough room for spreading.
Bake in moderate oven (180C) for 10-15 mins.
