We discovered the Williams Sonoma Peppermint Bark whilst living in the USA and wow – we have not looked back. We were lucky to experience two Christmas’ there so were able to try it twice as it only comes out at Christmas. You can buy it in Australia, but it is pretty $$$. So I thought I would try to make my own and I am so happy I did! It’s just as delicious, and would also make a great gift or as a dessert to take to festive drinks or a Christmas party.
DIY PEPPERMINT BARK
3-4 Blocks of 75% Dark Chocolate
2-3 Black of White Chocolate or Buttons
1 tsp Pepperment Essence
Crushed Candy Canes
Line a baking tray and lay out all of your dark chocolate. Melt in a preheated over at 100C. It doesn’t take long. Whilst its melting prepare your white chocolate by melting it on stove or in microwave.
I then dolloped the melted white chocolate on top and swirled it in with a toothpick.
Add drops of Peppermint Essence and swirl through again.
Top with the crushed Candy Canes
Put back into fridge or freezer to harden.
And you’re done! Now, just try and stop at one piece!
TIP! Freeze the candy canes before you crush them. It makes them much easier and less sticky to work with
